Make Money from Home: Beware These Time-Wasters
At Giftloop we love helping our readers and users discover more and more ways to make money from home. Our app is a great place to start, of course, with all its many ways to earn. Remember, you can even earn while charging your Android device when you use Giftloop!
But if you’ve been looking at options for making money from home for a little while, you’ve probably already realized there are some dark sides. One of these dark sides is a category of sites and activities we’ll call time-wasters.
What Are Time-Wasters?
Time-wasters aren’t scams or spammy. They’re apps and activities that do really give you the ability to make money in nontraditional ways. The problem with time-wasters is that you’ll often end up spending significant time only to realize something won’t pay.
Other time-wasters simply pay so little that they aren’t truly worth the time you’re investing.
Let’s look at some examples of the sorts of time-wasters that are out there.
Bad Survey Sites
Surveys can be a great way to make money from home, but some survey sites are better than others. Sometimes, you’ll burn 5, 10, even 15 minutes on “introductory questions”— just to discover that you “don’t qualify” for the survey.
How frustrating: You thought the survey was only going to take 20 minutes. You burned most of that time just attempting to qualify, and you get nothing for your trouble.
If you discover a particular survey site is often treating you this way, it may be a time-waster.
Some legit task-based apps (like Field Agent or EasyShift) can have ultra picky requirements. If you’re consistently getting denied, it might be time to call the app a time-waster and move on.
Work for Peanuts
Amazon’s Mechanical Turk can be a good source of income, but many of the lowest-level tasks equate to far lower than minimum wage. For many, these are not worth the time they take.
The moral of the story is this: whatever apps you’re investing time in, take a step back and make sure they aren’t actually wasting your time. If they are, it’s time to move on.
